A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the eligibility of certain persons to participate in
the retirement systems of certain municipalities.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 1, Chapter 88 (H.B. 1573), Acts of the
77th Legislature, Regular Session, 2001 (Article 6243h, Vernon's
Texas Civil Statutes), is amended by adding Subdivision (11-a) to
read as follows:
(11-a) "Employee" does not include a full-time
employee of a local government corporation or other entity created
by or acting on behalf of a municipality if the local government
corporation or other entity has not agreed to participate in the
pension system.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
