| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Chapter 325, Government Code, is amended by | |
| 12 | 12 | adding Section 325.0011 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 325.0011. PURPOSE. (a) The purpose of the Sunset | |
| 14 | 14 | Advisory Commission is to: | |
| 15 | 15 | (1) review and redesign state agencies in an effort to | |
| 16 | 16 | streamline the services, processes, and procedures of each agency | |
| 17 | 17 | reviewed; | |
| 18 | 18 | (2) evaluate the justification for the agency's | |
| 19 | 19 | existence; and | |
| 20 | 20 | (3) evaluate the extent to which the agency's services | |
| 21 | 21 | meet the needs of the citizens the agency serves. | |
| 22 | 22 | (b) The commission's primary objective is to create a more | |
| 23 | 23 | innovative and efficient government that ensures the | |
| 24 | 24 | highest-quality services to citizens of this state at the lowest | |
| 25 | 25 | possible cost. | |
| 26 | 26 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
