A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the repeal of the motor fuel tax.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding other law, beginning with the
state fiscal year beginning September 1, 2016, Subchapter B,
Chapter 162 of the Tax Code is repealed.
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding other law, the Department of
Transportation shall submit to the Legislature proposals for
replacing the motor fuel tax prior to January 1, 2015.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
