7	7	Williamson-Travis Counties Water Control and Improvement District
8	8	No. 1G.
9	9	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
10	10	SECTION 1. Subtitle I, Title 6, Special District Local Laws
11	11	Code, is amended by adding Chapter 9036 to read as follows:
12	12	CHAPTER 9036. WILLIAMSON-TRAVIS COUNTIES WATER CONTROL AND
13	13	IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 1G
14	14	Sec. 9036.001. DEFINITION. In this chapter, "district"
15	15	means the Williamson-Travis Counties Water Control and Improvement
16	16	District No. 1G.
17	17	Sec. 9036.002. REMOVAL OF AREA FROM EMERGENCY SERVICES
18	18	DISTRICT. (a) This section applies only to:
19	19	(1) a municipality with a population of less than
20	20	100,000; and
21	21	(2) an emergency services district operating under
22	22	Chapter 775, Health and Safety Code, in which the district is wholly
23	23	or partly located.
24	24	(b) If the district enters into a strategic partnership
25	25	agreement with a municipality under Section 43.0751, Local
26	26	Government Code, that includes the provision of fire-fighting
27	27	services as defined by Section 49.351(k), Water Code, and the
28	28	district has completed all other procedures necessary for a
29	29	limited-purpose annexation by that municipality, an emergency
30	30	services district shall disannex the territory of the district to
31	31	be served by the municipality under the agreement in accordance
32	32	with Subsection (c).
33	33	(c) The territory remains part of the emergency services
34	34	district until the secretary of the emergency services district
35	35	board receives from the district notice that the requirements of
36	36	Subsection (b) have been met. On receipt of the notice, the board
37	37	shall immediately change its records to show that the district
38	38	territory has been disannexed from the emergency services district
39	39	and shall cease to provide further services to the residents of that
40	40	territory.
41	41	(d) Sections 775.022(b), (c), (d), (e), and (f), Health and
42	42	Safety Code, apply to a disannexation under this section, as if the
43	43	disannexation occurred under the provisions of Section 775.022(a),
44	44	Health and Safety Code.
45	45	SECTION 2. (a) The legal notice of the intention to
46	46	introduce this Act, setting forth the general substance of this
47	47	Act, has been published as provided by law, and the notice and a
48	48	copy of this Act have been furnished to all persons, agencies,
49	49	officials, or entities to which they are required to be furnished
50	50	under Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, and Chapter 313,
51	51	Government Code.
52	52	(b) The governor, one of the required recipients, has
53	53	submitted the notice and Act to the Texas Commission on
54	54	Environmental Quality.
55	55	(c) The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has filed
56	56	its recommendations relating to this Act with the governor, the
57	57	lieutenant governor, and the speaker of the house of
58	58	representatives within the required time.
59	59	(d) All requirements of the constitution and laws of this
60	60	state and the rules and procedures of the legislature with respect
61	61	to the notice, introduction, and passage of this Act are fulfilled
62	62	and accomplished.
63	63	SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
