The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the county tax assessor-collector and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to remit on a monthly basis voluntary contributions collected on behalf of the Glenda Dawson Donate Life-Texas Registry to the nonprofit organization administering the registry for use by the nonprofit to manage the organizations registry.      Note, this bill would not amend Chapter 692A.020(i) of the Health and Safety Code, which requires the county tax assessor-collector and DPS to remit voluntary contributions collected on behalf of the Glenda Dawson Donate Life-Texas Registry to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.  The same section also requires the funds be disbursed to the nonprofit organization under the terms of the contract between the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the nonprofit organization.   The bill is effective September 1, 2013, unless it receives a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
