| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 28.009(a-2), Education Code, is amended | |
| 11 | 11 | to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (a-2) A school district is not required to pay a student's | |
| 13 | 13 | tuition or other associated costs for taking a course under this | |
| 14 | 14 | section. This subsection expires September 1, 2015 [2013]. | |
| 15 | 15 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 16 | 16 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 17 | 17 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 18 | 18 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 19 | 19 | Act takes effect August 31, 2013. |
