99 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1010 AN ACT
1111 relating to the dissemination of information regarding employment
1212 opportunities in this state to secondary school students.
1313 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1414 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 302, Labor Code, is
1515 amended by adding Section 302.014 to read as follows:
1616 Sec. 302.014. EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL
1717 STUDENTS. (a) The commission shall provide the Texas Education
1818 Agency with information at least each quarter regarding current and
1919 projected employment opportunities in this state, disaggregated by
2020 county or other appropriate region.
2121 (b) The Texas Education Agency shall provide the
2222 information obtained under Subsection (a) to school districts for
2323 use in local planning and implementation of career and technical
2424 education and training programs.
2525 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
