99 AN ACT
1010 relating to the powers, duties, and compensation of the board of
1111 directors of the Duval County Groundwater Conservation District.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 8808, Special District
1414 Local Laws Code, is amended by adding Sections 8808.055 and
1515 8808.056 to read as follows:
1616 Sec. 8808.055. DISTRICT NAME CHANGE. The board by
1717 resolution may change the district's name. The board shall give
1818 written notice of the change to the county.
1919 Sec. 8808.056. ADVISORY COMMITTEES. The board by
2020 resolution may appoint one or more advisory committees to assist
2121 the board with any matter affecting the district. A person who
2222 serves on an advisory committee is not entitled to compensation for
2323 that service.
2424 SECTION 2. Section 8808.054, Special District Local Laws
2525 Code, is repealed.
2626 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2727 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2828 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2929 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3030 Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
