| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 264, Family Code, is |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | amended by adding Section 264.0121 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 264.0121. NOTICE TO LEGISLATORS OF FOSTER CHILD'S |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | DEATH. Not later than the fifth day after the date the department |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | is notified of the death of a child for whom the department has been |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | appointed managing conservator, the department shall provide the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | information described by Section 261.203(a) for the child to the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | state senators and state representatives who represent: |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (1) the county in which the child's placement at the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | time of the child's death was located; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (2) the county in which a suit affecting the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | parent-child relationship involving the child is pending. |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
|---|
