88 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
99 WHEREAS, Teachers make a difference each day with the energy
1010 and creativity they bring to the education of our children; and
1111 WHEREAS, They help keep American democracy alive by laying
1212 the foundation for good citizenship, and they instill in young
1313 people a love of learning; and
1414 WHEREAS, Filling such roles as instructor, motivator,
1515 encourager, and mentor, teachers continue to influence us long
1616 after our school days are over; and
1717 WHEREAS, Few other professionals touch as many lives as
1818 teachers, and it is indeed fitting to recognize these committed men
1919 and women for their contributions to our state's most precious
2020 resource; now, therefore, be it
2121 RESOLVED, That the 83rd Legislature of the State of Texas
2222 hereby designate the first full week of May as Texas Teacher
2323 Appreciation Week; and, be it further
2424 RESOLVED, That in accordance with the provisions of Section
2525 391.004(d), Government Code, the designation remains in effect
2626 until the 10th anniversary of the date this resolution is passed.
