| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Teachers make a difference each day with the energy |

| 10 | 10 | | and creativity they bring to the education of our children; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, They help keep American democracy alive by laying |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the foundation for good citizenship, and they instill in young |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | people a love of learning; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Filling such roles as instructor, motivator, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | encourager, and mentor, teachers continue to influence us long |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | after our school days are over; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Few other professionals touch as many lives as |

| 18 | 18 | | teachers, and it is indeed fitting to recognize these committed men |

| 19 | 19 | | and women for their contributions to our state's most precious |

| 20 | 20 | | resource; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the 83rd Legislature of the State of Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | hereby designate the first full week of May as Texas Teacher |

| 23 | 23 | | Appreciation Week; and, be it further |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That in accordance with the provisions of Section |
