A JOINT RESOLUTION
proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing the use of
available Veterans' Land Board money for the payment of educational
benefits for veterans.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 49-b, Article III, Texas Constitution,
is amended by adding Subsection (x) to read as follows:
(x) The legislature by general law may provide for the use
of available money in the Veterans' Land Fund, the Veterans' Housing
Assistance Fund, or the Veterans' Housing Assistance Fund II for
the payment of educational benefits for veterans.
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 5, 2013.
The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the
proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the use of
available Veterans' Land Board money for the payment of educational
benefits for veterans."
