H.R. No. 1136 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The Friendswood High School cheerleaders have distinguished themselves in competition during the 2012-2013 school year; and WHEREAS, For the first time in its history, the intermediate squad earned first place at the 2013 National Cheerleaders Association Senior and Junior High School National Championship; the win capped an outstanding year that also included first place finishes for the novice and intermediate squads at the Cheer America National Championships; and WHEREAS, Ably guided by sponsor Kerri Yee, the teams include varsity seniors Ashton Clement, Lara Gardner, Maggie Geiler, Morgan Green, Abby Livesay, Madison Lockwood, Alissa Ratcliff, and Rachel Steed; varsity juniors Leah Blair, Olivia Briand, Danica Jimenez, Taylor King, Stephanie LeBlanc, Hannah Montz, Mason Newkirk, Lauren Sellers, and Rachel Woods; junior varsity members Danielle Brock, Shelby Crenshaw, Julia Gill, Amelia Langhart, Savannah Mize, Emelie Nelson, Sarah Salibo, Kallie Scott, Sarah Slaton, Victoria Stelmach, Brenna Swientonioski, and Kaytlyn Vavrecka; and freshmen Gabby Birsinger, Piper Ellis, Jennis Ellsworth, Cassie Fowler, McKenzie Fullen, Victoria Garris, Kylie Killough, Emily King, Samantha Montz, Catherine Stelmach, Maddie Warren, and Katie Yee; and WHEREAS, Earning a national championship represents the culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering commitment to excellence, and these talented performers may take justifiable pride in their many accomplishments; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby honor the Friendswood High School cheer squads for their success in competition during the 2012-2013 school year and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared for the squads as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
