R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Town of Addison is helping to benefit Baylor
University students and the local economy through its support of
the Accelerated Ventures business incubation program; and
WHEREAS, Designed to bring new industry and jobs to the
Addison area, the initiative offers valuable services to graduates
of Baylor's Hankamer School of Business Accelerated Ventures
course; and
WHEREAS, The city is providing free office space for a year,
as well as mentorship and other resources, to participants who,
through their studies, have learned important strategies to develop
market plans, create startup companies, and generate revenue; and
WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated businesses play a vital
role in the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and by helping to
encourage their development, the Town of Addison is ensuring that
this North Texas community will continue to thrive; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby honor the new business incubation partnership
between the Town of Addison and Baylor University and extend to all
those associated with the program sincere best wishes for the
future.
