H.R. No. 1229
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Leadership Metrocrest contributes immeasurably to
the communities of Addison, Carrollton, and Farmers Branch by
working to develop future civic leaders and volunteers; and
WHEREAS, A program of the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce,
Leadership Metrocrest builds the leaders of tomorrow by providing a
base of understanding of public issues and infrastructure, as well
as communication links to decision makers in the area; classes
inspire the spirit of activism and offer networking opportunities
and training in government, economic development, transportation,
and other relevant topics; and
WHEREAS, The first Leadership Metrocrest class began in 1989,
and since then more than 360 residents have graduated from the
program; the current Class XXIV will conclude its studies in May
2013; and
WHEREAS, Through its efforts to foster a more informed and
involved citizenry, Leadership Metrocrest is helping to create a
brighter and more promising future for the Lone Star State; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby honor Leadership Metrocrest for its promotion of
civic leadership and volunteerism and extend to the members of
Leadership Metrocrest Class XXIV sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Leadership Metrocrest as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
