R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, For the fourth consecutive year, the City of
Richardson has earned a coveted AAA bond rating from the Standard &
Poor's and Moody's credit rating agencies; and
WHEREAS, Richardson is one of only five communities in Texas
to hold "Triple A" ratings from both agencies; when assigning the
rating, both S&P and Moody's praised the city's participation in the
Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex economy, its tenured and responsive
city management, and its strong financial policies and practices;
and
WHEREAS, Internationally known as a center for high-tech
innovation, Richardson is home to more than 5,000 businesses,
including a number of the world's largest telecommunications
companies; this sizable tax base also significantly contributes to
the city's success; and
WHEREAS, The leaders of Richardson are dedicated to ensuring
the long-term fiscal resilience of their community, and their
outstanding oversight and guidance today will continue to benefit
residents well into the future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the City of Richardson on receiving
AAA rating from the Standard & Poor's and Moody's credit rating
agencies and extend to the city's staff and elected officials
sincere best wishes for continued success.
