H.R. No. 1255 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by many of this nation's leaders, and the attainment of this significant honor by Houston Robert Garrett of Lubbock also heralds a future bright with opportunity and promise; and WHEREAS, The son of Greg and Nancy Garrett and a junior at Trinity Christian School, this fine young Texan has mastered a number of important skills in his quest to become an Eagle Scout; he has earned merit badges requiring expertise in such diverse areas as first aid, personal fitness, and environmental science, and he has gained experience in leadership and teamwork while undertaking his Eagle Scout project, which involved manufacturing and placing more than 200 address signs on the back fences of homes throughout Lubbock, enabling first responders to better identify the locations from the alley; and WHEREAS, A valued member of Boy Scout Troop No. 567, Mr. Garrett has served his peers as a leader, and in so doing, he has exemplified the many positive traits for which Boy Scouts are renowned; and WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Houston Garrett has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the organization and its ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Houston Robert Garrett on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Garrett as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
