H.R. No. 1256
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Bill and Patricia Smith of Lubbock celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary on March 7, 2013, and they may indeed
reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared;
and
WHEREAS, Bill Smith and the former Patricia Neff exchanged
the vows of matrimony at First Methodist Church in Floydada in 1963,
and over the course of their marriage, they have found in each other
a loving life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Smith count among their blessings a
fine family that includes two daughters, Sheryl Stephens and her
husband, Scott, and Becky Duncan and her husband, Brad, as well as
three grandsons, with whom they treasure sharing many special
occasions; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, Bill and Patricia Smith have
brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it
is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Bill and Patricia Smith on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Smith as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
