 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A group of outstanding students from L. D. Bell High
 School, Trinity High School, and the KEYS Learning Center were
 recognized at the Awards of Excellence Dinner hosted by the
 Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD Education Foundation on March 7, 2013; and
 WHEREAS, This annual event pays tribute to high school
 seniors who have excelled in specific fields of study, and it
 reflects the strong support that the community provides to public
 education; local business and civic leaders sponsor each of the
 award winners, and each honoree, in turn, acknowledges a faculty
 mentor who has been instrumental in the student's endeavors; and
 WHEREAS, The L. D. Bell High School students who received
 awards were Arianne Couch, who was mentored in art by Wendy Parelee,
 Steve Ngugi Muiruri, who was mentored in band by Van Mathews, Ryan
 Linn, who was mentored in career and technology by Ken Davis,
 Rebekah Telford, who was mentored in choir by Joanne Antinone,
 Jaymie Fuller, who was mentored in computer science by Stacy
 Williams, Ryan Mitchell, who was mentored in English by Donna
 Moore, Carol Bubb, who was mentored in journalism by Daniela Jones,
 Julia Theisen, who was mentored in mathematics by Melissa Vela,
 Kafo Tuha, who was mentored in physical education and athletics by
 Mark Smith, Breenen Taylor, who was mentored in science by Charlya
 Fuller, Michael Adams, who was mentored in social studies by Susan
 Harper, Joshua Walsh, who was mentored in speech by Allen Matthews,
 Andrew Ramirez, who was mentored in theater arts by Candace Hooper,
 and Karim Behloul, who was mentored in world languages by Trinette
 Robichaux-Cichock; and
 WHEREAS, Representing Trinity High School were award winners
 Regan Scott, who was mentored in art by Carolyn Allen, Allen Wang,
 who was mentored in band by Mario Casanova, Preston Adhikari, who
 was mentored in career and technology by Margaret Russell, Landon
 Morris, who was mentored in choir by Michael Dean, Paslyn Lewis, who
 was mentored in computer science by Donna Orozco, Charlotte
 Ellsworth, who was mentored in English by Thomas Montelongo,
 Zachary Whitney, who was mentored in journalism by Christine Davis,
 Wendy Davidson, who was mentored in mathematics by Susan New, Anna
 Flobeck, who was mentored in physical education and athletics by
 Susan New, Pradyotha Kanchustambham, who was mentored in science by
 William Wells, Donovan Sloan, who was mentored in social studies by
 Ann Nadeau, Spencer Robertson, who was mentored in speech by Kenzie
 Shirack, Bobby Robinson, who was mentored in theater arts by Jamie
 Pringle, and Mariela Reyes-Martinez, who was mentored in world
 languages by Monica Ubillus; and
 WHEREAS, The honoree from the KEYS Learning Center was Katie
 Lindsey, who was selected as the school's Student of the Year and
 who benefited from the mentorship of Jackie Reily; and
 WHEREAS, By demonstrating admirable determination and by
 taking full advantage of the caring support provided by their
 teachers, these exemplary students have built a strong foundation
 for future success, and they can look forward with confidence to the
 challenges and opportunities that lie ahead; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the 2013 Awards of Excellence
 honorees on their recognition by the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD
 Education Foundation and extend to them sincere best wishes for
 continued achievement; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
 for the students as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
 of Representatives.
