 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may
 temper the profound sadness felt by the family and friends of Lee
 Pais, Sr., of San Antonio, who passed away on January 9, 2012, at
 the age of 86; and
 WHEREAS, Born on July 14, 1925, to Lee Pais and Helen Orr
 Medina, Mr. Pais enlisted in the United States Navy just three days
 after graduating from Central Catholic High School in San Antonio
 in 1944; he subsequently served as a boatswain's mate in the Pacific
 theater; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Pais was discharged from active duty in 1946,
 but continued to serve in the Navy Reserve and was recalled during
 the Korean War in 1951; he ultimately retired from a civil service
 position at Fort Sam Houston following a 35-year career; and
 WHEREAS, A man of faith, Mr. Pais was an active member of the
 St. Philips of Jesus and St. Lawrence Catholic Churches, and he
 served as head usher for many years; he was also a member of the
 Knights of Columbus, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Disabled
 American Veterans; and
 WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Pais was supported by
 his loving wife of 65 years, Mary, and he took pride in a fine family
 that included 4 children and their spouses, Lee Pais, Jr., and his
 wife, Diane, Mary E. Martinez and her husband, Michael, Pamela Ann
 Lopez and her husband, Mike, and Marty A. Pais and his wife, Gloria,
 as well as 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Lee Pais enjoyed a life that centered on faith,
 family, and country, and those who were privileged to share in his
 love and friendship will forever remember him with great admiration
 and affection; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lee Pais, Sr., and
 extend sincere condolences to his friends and loved ones; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lee Pais,
 Sr.
