H.R. No. 1291 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Curtis Ray Steger II of Georgetown has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, "Cray" Steger earned 31 merit badges, and for his Eagle Scout project, he constructed a storage shed for the Humane Society of Williamson County; and WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting offers; his numerous camping excursions include Camp Pirtle, Camp Sol Mayer, and Lost Pines Boy Scout Camp, as well as a high adventure backpacking expedition at Philmont Scout Ranch, during which his crew hiked 70 miles; moreover, he completed the Capitol Area Council's National Youth Leadership Training at Camp Green Dickson and has participated in 35 service projects; and WHEREAS, In addition to his scouting activities, Mr. Steger is a freshman at East View High School and attends Palm Valley Lutheran Church; and WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Steger's dedication to excellence and his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Curtis Ray Steger II on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Eagle Scout Steger as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
