 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Adela Garcia of Austin won her seventh Ms. Fitness
 Olympia competition in September 2012, continuing her
 record-setting dominance in that prestigious bodybuilding contest;
 and
 WHEREAS, Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Puerto
 Rico, Ms. Garcia entered her first fitness competition in 1995;
 since then, she has become one of the most prominent female athletes
 in the sport, claiming 15 victories, including five Fitness
 International titles; she was especially impressive in 2006, when
 she won the "grand slam" of fitness by taking first place in the
 Show of Strength as well as the Ms. Fitness Olympia and Fitness
 International events; and
 WHEREAS, In addition to her work on the competitive stage,
 Ms. Garcia operates O.F.F. (Overcome Fitness Fears) Challenge,
 which provides fitness and health training and has mentored a
 number of aspiring fitness athletes; and
 WHEREAS, Capturing the Ms. Fitness Olympia title is an
 exceptional achievement that many strive to attain but few
 accomplish, and Ms. Garcia's seventh victory in that event has
 furthered her reputation as one of the sport's most impressive
 performers; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Adela Garcia on winning the 2012
 Ms. Fitness Olympia competition and extend to her sincere best
 wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Garcia as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
