 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A century of joyful memories and meaningful
 accomplishments is truly reason to celebrate, and on January 13,
 2013, one very special Texan, Lee Anna Lockett-Mack, will do just
 that as she observes her 100th birthday; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Linden in 1913 to Arthur and Ada Lockett,
 Mrs. Lockett-Mack is the seventh of nine children; as a youth, she
 attended the Fairview Schools and was a member of the Salem
 Missionary Baptist Church; in 1935 she married Fred Mack; they
 created a loving home and enjoyed many happy years of marriage
 before his passing in 1967; a lifelong resident of Linden, she is a
 beloved fixture of her community; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Lockett-Mack's contributions to her church and
 to local schools have made a profound, positive impact on the Linden
 community; she has served the New Light Baptist Church as a Sunday
 school teacher, as secretary of the choir, as president of the youth
 department, as chair of prayer meeting, and as chair of
 deaconesses, and she now holds the revered title of mother of the
 church; the Parent-Teacher Association of Cass County Schools has
 also been fortunate to count Mrs. Lockett-Mack as an ardent
 supporter; in addition, she has been an active member of the
 Community Council of Cass County, as well as Linden Chapter No. 502
 of the Order of the Eastern Star; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout their elementary, high school, and
 college years, Mrs. Lockett-Mack's nieces and nephews received
 uncommon care from their aunt; she provided them with both moral and
 financial support and was an integral part of their journey to
 adulthood; and
 WHEREAS, Over the course of the past century, Lee Anna
 Lockett-Mack has brought happiness into the lives of all those
 fortunate enough to share in her love and friendship, and it is a
 pleasure to join in honoring her for 100 years of life well lived;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Lee Anna Lockett-Mack on the joyous
 occasion of her 100th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes
 for continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mrs. Lockett-Mack as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
