 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
 death of Agnes DeJoyce McRoy-Morgan on January 14, 2013, at the age
 of 61; and
 WHEREAS, DeJoyce McRoy-Morgan was born on October 21, 1951,
 in Syracuse, New York, to Dee Madison and Agnes Young; she grew up
 in Florida, graduating from Cocoa High School, and went on to earn a
 bachelor's degree in social work at Tuskegee University in Alabama
 and a master's degree in liberal arts at Dallas Baptist University;
 she also completed graduate course work in criminology and
 business; and
 WHEREAS, She found a life partner in Dr. Warren Morgan, and
 the couple shared many happy years together before his death in
 2001; they were blessed with a son, Warren Morgan, and
 Ms. McRoy-Morgan later took great joy in becoming a grandmother of
 two; and
 WHEREAS, She moved with her family to Waco, where she worked
 as the director of Paul Quinn College's development office before
 retiring to Jackson, Mississippi; Ms. McRoy-Morgan was a life
 member of the NAACP and a golden life member of the Dallas Alumnae
 Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority; along the way, she was
 recognized as an Outstanding Young Woman of America and as the Woman
 of the Year by the American Women's Association; in 1988, the mayor
 of Waco created DeJoyce Morgan Day in honor of her service to the
 community; and
 WHEREAS, DeJoyce McRoy-Morgan treasured the time she spent in
 the company of her family and friends, and those she leaves behind
 will in turn cherish their memories of this kind and caring woman;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Agnes DeJoyce
 McRoy-Morgan and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her
 family: to her son, Warren Morgan; to her godson, Lee Gray; to her
 sisters, Chyann Armstrong and Sherri McRoy; to her brothers, Willie
 Young, Barry Jenkins, and James McRoy; to her two grandchildren;
 and to her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of DeJoyce
 McRoy-Morgan.
