R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Granbury North Central Texas Academy tied for the
2013 Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools 1A State
Championship in art; and
WHEREAS, Contestants were judged on artistic technique,
personal expression, and organization, as well as whether their
work effectively integrated these three qualities; and
WHEREAS, The finals were held at Concordia University in
Austin on March 22-23, and 25 teams vied for the state title;
Granbury North Central was one of two schools to take home top
honors with an overall score of 95 points; and
WHEREAS, With this victory, the talented members of the
Granbury North Central art team proved themselves to be among the
finest young artists in Texas and earned great distinction for
themselves, their school, and their community; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Granbury North Central Texas
Academy on tying for the 2013 TAPPS 1A State Championship in art and
extend to members of the art team sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
