R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dr. Vishnu V. Reddy was named president-elect of
medical staff at the CHRISTUS Spohn Health System in Corpus Christi
in January 2013; and
WHEREAS, After concluding his internship in 1997 at Osmania
General Hospital in Hyderabad, India, Dr. Reddy conducted
cardiology research at the Texas Heart Institute and at The
University of Texas Medical School at Houston, where he completed
his residency in June 2006; following three years as a primary care
physician in San Patricio County, he joined the internal medicine
department of CHRISTUS Spohn Health System; and
WHEREAS, An acknowledged specialist on blood vessels in the
heart, Dr. Reddy is a coauthor of numerous scientific journal
papers and has also written material for cardiology textbooks; he
has presented his research findings at a number of professional
conferences and is involved with an ongoing study to determine if
the internal temperature of the human heart can reveal the presence
of clogged arteries; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Reddy has held a number of prominent
administrative roles during his distinguished career; he has been
the medical director for several health care providers, overseen
the intensive care unit at North Bay Hospital, and served as the
chief of the department of medicine at CHRISTUS Spohn; moreover, he
holds faculty positions in the residency programs at the University
of North Texas School of Osteopathic Medicine and at CHRISTUS
Spohn, where he is also a member of the professional review,
credentials, and quality committees and co-chairman of the
department of medicine; and
WHEREAS, Highly respected for his commitment to the provision
of quality health care, Dr. Vishnu Reddy is well deserving of this
new position, and it is most fitting to take this opportunity to
recognize him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Vishnu V. Reddy on being named
president-elect of medical staff at CHRISTUS Spohn Health System,
Corpus Christi, and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success in his important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Dr. Reddy as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
