 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Ortiz Intermediate School in Robstown held its
 annual science fair on January 30, 2013, and seven students were
 named winners in the competition; and
 WHEREAS, A. J. Barrera took first place among the sixth grade
 contestants, with Ethan Hinojosa and Marco Barrera placing second
 and third, respectively; Jared Prezas was the fifth grade champion,
 and he was followed by Brandon Garza in second and by two students
 who tied for third, Sierra Salazar and Jennifer Portillo; and
 WHEREAS, The winners were chosen by a panel of judges and
 announced by Ortiz principal Laura Cueva; in addition to earning
 the admiration of their teachers and fellow students, all seven
 prize winners advanced to the Coastal Bend Regional Science Fair
 for another round of competition; and
 WHEREAS, These talented young Texans have demonstrated that
 dedication and ingenuity can lead to exceptional results, and they
 are indeed deserving of recognition for their achievements; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the winners of the 2013 Ortiz
 Intermediate School Science Fair and extend to them sincere best
 wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
 for the winning students as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
