 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
 passing of Suzanne Schoenemann Johnson of Houston on June 15, 2011,
 at the age of 73; and
 WHEREAS, Suzanne Schoenemann was born in Wharton on October
 15, 1937, to Burford and Ruth Struve Schoenemann; raised in
 Brenham, she was a graduate of Brenham High School and Sam Houston
 State University; and
 WHEREAS, Miss Schoenemann was joined in matrimony to Edward
 Durron Johnson in 1959, and they shared a loving relationship for
 more than half a century; they were blessed with three children,
 Edward, James, and Diane, and seven grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, A resident of Houston for over 50 years,
 Mrs. Johnson was a former teacher and a longtime friend of the
 Spring Branch Independent School District; while her children were
 growing up, she volunteered as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and
 played an active role in the PTA, serving as president of that
 organization at Bunker Hill Elementary School, Spring Branch Middle
 School, and Memorial High School; and
 WHEREAS, Among the other organizations to which she gave
 generously of her time and talents were the Assistance League of
 Houston and the Zeta Tau Alpha Alumni Association; she was also a
 lifelong supporter of the Brenham Maifest and a valued member of
 Chapelwood United Methodist Church, which she joined in 1962; and
 WHEREAS, Beloved for her warmth, good cheer, and kind spirit,
 Suzanne Johnson enriched immeasurably the lives of her family and
 many friends, and they will forever hold her close in their hearts;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Suzanne Schoenemann
 Johnson and extend sincere condolences to the members of her
 family: to her sons, Edward Durron Johnson, Jr., and his wife, Jean
 Dugat Johnson, and James Burford Johnson and his wife, Martha Moody
 Johnson; to her daughter, Diane Johnson Taaffe, and her husband,
 Peter K. Taaffe; to her mother, Ruth Struve Schoenemann; to her
 grandchildren, Hope Johnson, Sydney Johnson, Sarah Margaret
 Johnson, Philip Taaffe, Robert Taaffe, Mary Taaffe, and Michael
 Taaffe; to her aunt, Ruby Luedemann; to her brother, Larry
 Schoenemann, and his wife, Corliss Schoenemann; and to her other
 relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Suzanne
 Schoenemann Johnson.
