H.R. No. 1483 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Emil Ogden has demonstrated exemplary leadership and service in behalf of the Boy Scouts of America and is a deserving recipient of the first annual Arrowmoon District Scouting Patron Award; and WHEREAS, Mr. Ogden was lauded for his embodiment of the group's highest values, exemplified by his helpful manner towards his fellow citizens and his commitment to follow the famous scout slogan of "do a good turn daily"; and WHEREAS, After joining the Boy Scouts in 1939 in Bowling Green, Missouri, Mr. Ogden earned his Star Badge as a 13-year-old and was recognized as the city's Most Courteous Boy Scout; now the father of six children, he speaks proudly of his family's continuing involvement with scouting and the opportunities that it provides to build character and integrity; and WHEREAS, Mr. Ogden has been a member of the Arrowmoon board of directors for many years and served as chair of the district committee from 1999 to 2000; additionally, he volunteers with his church, veterans groups, and numerous other community organizations; and WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Ogden enjoys the love and support of his wife, Clementine, and their treasured family of two daughters, Mary Katherine and Laura, and four sons, Steve, Paul, Michael, and Joseph; and WHEREAS, Emil Ogden incorporates the high ideals of the Boy Scouts of America into his own activities in which he does much for the benefit of his community, and it is indeed fitting that he be honored at this time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Emil Ogden on receiving the first annual Arrowmoon District Scouting Patron Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Ogden as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
