 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Members of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church
 of Austin gathered together to celebrate the dedication of their
 new sanctuary on December 29, 2012; and
 WHEREAS, Founded in 1995 with 240 parishioners, St. Vincent
 de Paul Catholic Church held services at Deerpark Middle School, in
 northwest Austin, during its early years; as the congregation grew,
 families and the diocese worked together to build a multipurpose
 worship space, which was completed in 2001; the church rolls have
 grown by approximately 100 new families a year since 2004 and now
 include some 1,500 registered parishioner families, many of whom
 contributed to the campaign to fund the new sanctuary; and
 WHEREAS, Particularly deserving of recognition for the
 completion of this project are the members of the building
 committee, which was established in 2007; that group was composed
 of John Cooke and Mark Fair, co-chairs, along with Mari Silva, Wade
 Champion, Joe Roche, Lynn Wagner, Paul Tisch, Father Daniel
 E. Garcia, Mike Moyer, Mike Moore, David Ochoa, and Dave Olander;
 and
 WHEREAS, For more than 17 years, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic
 Church has played a vital role in the community; providing area
 residents with myriad opportunities for spiritual growth, it offers
 a number of worthwhile programs, including service ministries,
 study groups, and fellowship gatherings; and
 WHEREAS, This dynamic congregation benefits from the able
 leadership of Father Garcia and Father Ron Feather as well as from
 the dedicated efforts of its deacons, seminarian, and staff; and
 WHEREAS, Sustained by a common purpose, warm fellowship, and
 inspired teaching, the members of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic
 Church have remained steadfast in their faith and in their ministry
 to the world around them, and it is a pleasure to join in
 celebrating this special milestone in the life of their church;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby commemorate the dedication of the new sanctuary
 for St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church of Austin and extend to its
 members sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
