H.R. No. 1693 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories of Annie Ruth Brooks of Dallas, who passed away on March 29, 2013, at the age of 75; and WHEREAS, Born in Brandon on July 18, 1937, the former Annie Ruth Foster was one of 14 children of James and Perlene Foster; she grew up in Milford, where she graduated from Kelly Miller High School; and WHEREAS, She found a life partner in Franklin Brooks, and the couple were blessed with three children, Franklin, Loretta, and Sonya; with the passing years, her family grew to include five grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and WHEREAS, A woman of faith, Mrs. Brooks was a devoted member of New Mount Corinth Baptist Church in Dallas; and WHEREAS, Annie Brooks lived a caring and purposeful life, and she will forever be remembered with deep affection by all who held her close to their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Annie Ruth Brooks and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her children, Loretta Ann Lee, Sonya Renee Hill, and Franklin Brooks, Jr.; to her grandchildren, Chris and Denzell Lee and Ricky, Mia, and Shatia Hill; to her great-grandchild, Da'vion Hill; to her sisters, Allie Mae ApplieWhite, Dorothy Jean Wright, Vearlean Johnson, Joyce Marie Lewis, Mamie Lee Price, and Sharon Sherfield; to her brothers, Edward, Blendell, John, and Danny Foster; and to her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Annie Ruth Brooks.
