H.R. No. 1700
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Melanie Robertson was named the 2013 Educator of the
Year at the Pittsburg-Camp County Chamber of Commerce Banquet; and
WHEREAS, In her role as head of the math department at
Pittsburg High School, Ms. Robertson has demonstrated exceptional
dedication to her students, arriving early and staying late to
reinforce classroom lessons through tutoring; she has also earned
the respect and appreciation of her fellow teachers by generously
sharing lesson ideas with them; and
WHEREAS, Thanks in part to the outstanding efforts of
Ms. Robertson, Pittsburg High students have exceeded expectations
on standardized achievement tests; and
WHEREAS, A quality education is vital in order for our young
people to become successful adults, and Melanie Robertson
exemplifies the passion, determination, and enthusiasm that are the
hallmarks of our best teachers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Melanie Robertson on being named
the 2013 Educator of the Year and extend to her sincere best wishes
for continued success with her important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Robertson as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
