H.R. No. 172
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, LaDene and Virgil Rickel of Lubbock celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary on November 18, 2012, and they may indeed
reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared;
and
WHEREAS, Virgil Rickel and the former LaDene Gurss exchanged
the vows of matrimony in Topeka, Kansas, in 1962, and over the
course of their marriage, they have found in each other a loving
life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Rickel count among their blessings a
fine family that includes four children and their spouses, Rock and
Mary Rickel, Shawn and Kate Rickel, Stan and LaVon Tate, and Perry
and Jane Rickel, as well as seven grandchildren, with whom they
treasure sharing many special occasions; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, Mr. and Mrs. Rickel have brought
to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it is a
pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate LaDene and Virgil Rickel on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Rickel as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
