H.R. No. 1722
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Several members of the McGregor High School boys'
basketball team received postseason accolades for their
outstanding performances during the 2012-2013 season; and
WHEREAS, Marcus Irons was chosen as the District 21-2A Most
Valuable Player and earned a spot on the Waco Tribune-Herald Super
Centex first team, while Jordan Najera was selected as Newcomer of
the Year for both the district and Super Centex squads; and
WHEREAS, Named to the All-District first team were Brandon
Sulak and Branden Dietzman; Hunter January was chosen for the
All-District second team, and Jaret White and Chance Seale merited
honorable mention nods; moreover, Mr. January, Mr. Dietzman, Mr.
White, and Heath Huffman were included on the All-Academic team;
and
WHEREAS, These talented student-athletes have demonstrated
notable skill and dedication, and their accomplishments are a
source of pride to their school and community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the McGregor High
School boys' basketball team who received honors for their efforts
during the 2012-2013 season and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for each of the players as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
