H.R. No. 173
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Luciana and Rollie Murphy of Lubbock celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary on December 12, 2012, and they may
indeed reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have
shared; and
WHEREAS, Rollie Murphy and the former Luciana Cioffi
exchanged the vows of matrimony in Verona, Italy, in 1962, and over
the course of their marriage, they have found in each other a loving
life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Murphy take pride in a fine family that
includes their children, Vincenzo Murphy and his wife, Lili, Nancy
Murphy Bowles and her husband, Jason, and Marcello Murphy and his
wife, Angi, as well as Marilyn Murphy, the widow of their son, Dino;
moreover, their lives have been enriched by the addition of nine
grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, Mr. and Mrs. Murphy have brought
to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it is a
pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Luciana and Rollie Murphy on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Murphy as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
