 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Hill Country BBQ Cook-Off is taking place on
 September 20 and 21, 2013, at the Hays County Civic Center in San
 Marcos; and
 WHEREAS, This popular event was founded in 2004 and attracts
 barbecue lovers from across the state; contestants match their
 skills in several different categories as they vie for prize money
 and awards while seeking to prove their mastery of the smoker; and
 WHEREAS, The Hill Country BBQ Cook-Off is a benefit that
 raises scholarship money for graduating seniors who are members of
 the San Marcos FFA, and it also supports other deserving
 recipients, such as the Hays County Food Bank and the Greater San
 Marcos Youth Council; and
 WHEREAS, A fun time for individuals of any age, the cook-off
 features rodeo bull riding and a washer-pitching contest as well as
 arts-and-crafts and food vendors; and
 WHEREAS, The Hill Country BBQ Cook-Off provides an
 opportunity to enjoy good food and spirited competition while
 aiding several worthwhile organizations, and it is sure to be
 enjoyed by all those who attend; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby commemorate the 2013 Hill Country BBQ Cook-Off
 and extend sincere best wishes to its sponsors and participants for
 a successful and memorable celebration.
