R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Amber Walterscheid of Muenster High School has been
named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association 1A All-State
Basketball Team following her superb performance during the
2012-2013 season; and
WHEREAS, A senior, Ms. Walterscheid demonstrated outstanding
leadership in helping the Lady Hornets to win all of their district
games and to advance to the regional semifinals in the 1A Division 1
playoffs; and
WHEREAS, Averaging 10.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.6 steals
per game, Ms. Walterscheid was a force on both ends of the court;
her stellar play earned her two notable accolades in addition to her
all-state recognition, the All-Cooke County Player of the Year
honor from the Gainesville Daily Register and the District 13-1A
Most Valuable Player award; and
WHEREAS, Through hard work and an enduring commitment to
excellence, Amber Walterscheid has become one of the top 1A players
in Texas, and her accomplishments will be remembered by fans of the
Lady Hornets basketball team for many years to come; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Amber Walterscheid on being named
to the 2013 Texas Girls Coaches Association 1A All-State Basketball
Team and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Walterscheid as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
