H.R. No. 179
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Art and Georgia "Jody" Cook of Lubbock
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on December 31, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Art Cook and the former Jody Kennedy were united in
matrimony in 1952; over the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling
marriage that has been made even richer with the expansion of their
family to include their sons, Shane and Dennis, their daughters,
Terry and Kelly, their daughters-in-law, Jan and Becky, their
son-in-law, Garry, and their seven grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
world during the past six decades, this devoted husband and wife
have remained constant in their commitment to each other, and the
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Art and Jody Cook on their 60th
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Cook as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
