H.R. No. 1887
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Robstown High School student Xavier Zamora was
honored as a 2013 Exemplary Migrant Student by The University of
Texas at Austin Migrant Student Graduation Enhancement Program on
April 13, 2013; and
WHEREAS, The first Robstown student to receive this
recognition in more than a decade, Mr. Zamora has earned a 4.18
grade point average and is ranked 23rd out of a class of 183; in
addition to attending to his studies, he has also played on both the
baseball team and the football team; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Zamora credits his mother with instilling in him
the desire to work hard and achieve; after graduating from high
school, he hopes to attend Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi to
study mechanical engineering; and
WHEREAS, The persistence, dedication, and ability that
Xavier Zamora has demonstrated will certainly continue to serve him
well as he pursues his education and career goals in the years
ahead; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Xavier Zamora on his selection as a
2013 Exemplary Migrant Student and extend to him sincere best
wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Zamora as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
