H.R. No. 1942 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Martha Harris of Mineola is retiring from City National Bank in 2013, drawing to a close a distinguished career in banking that has spanned more than four decades; and WHEREAS, A native of Dallas, Ms. Harris grew up in Grand Saline, McKinney, and Mesquite; she began to work in the banking industry in 1972 when she took a job at the First National Bank of Richardson, where she gained valuable experience in bookkeeping, credit, loans, and new accounts; and WHEREAS, Ms. Harris moved with her husband, Tommy, to Mineola in 1978 and was subsequently hired at the First National Bank of Mineola; over the years, she served in a variety of positions, including vice president and loan officer, compliance officer, secretary to the board of directors, senior vice president, and executive vice president; she continued with the bank after it became City National Bank in March 2011; and WHEREAS, Through her dedication and professionalism, Martha Harris has earned the lasting respect and admiration of her colleagues, and she may indeed reflect with pride on a job well done as she looks forward to the next exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Martha Harris on her retirement from City National Bank and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Harris as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
