H.R. No. 2100
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jared Weaver has been selected to receive the Leslie
P. Daughtry Scholarship in recognition of his hard work and
commitment to academic excellence; and
WHEREAS, Established in memory of former Galveston County
Daily News publisher Leslie P. Daughtry, the scholarship honors
outstanding college-bound seniors from each of the area's public
and private high schools; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Weaver is a student at Ball High School, where he
has demonstrated tremendous drive and dedication in achieving his
goals; and
WHEREAS, A source of tremendous pride to his family, this
outstanding young Texan may take justifiable pride in his
achievements and look forward with optimism to the challenges and
opportunities that lie ahead; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jared Weaver on receiving the
Leslie P. Daughtry Scholarship and extend to him sincere best
wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Weaver as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
