H.R. No. 2218 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, No words can diminish the pain caused by a life ended far too soon, but the loved ones of Katrina Harrington of Joshua may find comfort in their memories of this brave and selfless woman, who passed away on April 23, 2013, at the age of 43; and WHEREAS, Born in Houston on April 12, 1970, Kat Harrington married her high school sweetheart, Doyle Harrington, on August 27, 1990; they later became the parents of two cherished daughters, Shelby and Heather; while the girls were small, she served as the contractor for the family's first home in Magnolia, and after they were both enrolled in school, she became a successful real estate agent; and WHEREAS, In 2010, Ms. Harrington was diagnosed with cancer, and while courageously battling her illness and taking care of her family, she dedicated herself to helping others; she founded a nonprofit organization, Go. Fight. Win., to raise awareness of colon cancer, especially in younger adults, and she took every opportunity to stress the vital role of colonoscopies in early diagnosis; throughout her struggle, she remained determined to enjoy every moment and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, and she benefited innumerable people through her empathy, encouragement, and wisdom; and WHEREAS, Kat Harrington brought joy to all who were fortunate enough to know her, and although she is deeply missed, her strength, steadfast faith, and tremendous generosity will remain a lasting source of inspiration; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Katrina Harrington and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her husband of 23 years, Doyle Harrington; to her daughters, Shelby and Heather Harrington; to her mother, Mary Campise; to her brother, Phillip Campise, Jr.; to her sisters, Elizabeth Burget and her husband, Dennis, Sherrie Grigg and her husband, Billy, and Cristina Werner and her husband, David; and to her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kat Harrington.
