H.R. No. 2326 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by many of this nation's leaders, and the attainment of this significant honor by Patrick Norman of Bedford also heralds a future bright with opportunity and promise; and WHEREAS, An eighth-grade student at Harwood Junior High School, this fine young Texan has mastered a number of important skills in his quest to become an Eagle Scout; he has earned merit badges requiring expertise in such diverse areas as first aid, personal fitness, and environmental science, and he has gained experience in leadership and teamwork while undertaking his Eagle Scout project, which involved building a 220-foot-long cedar split rail fence around a garden at St. Michael Catholic Church; and WHEREAS, Mr. Norman is a valued member of Boy Scout Troop No. 250, for which his father, Weldon Norman, serves as committee chair; he has held a number of leadership posts in the troop and is also a strong student and skilled athlete; and WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Patrick Norman has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the organization and its ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Patrick Norman on achieving the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Norman as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
