 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Glen Rose High School students Nathan Burroughs and
 Christine Sheets became a source of pride for their school and
 community with their performance at the University Interscholastic
 League Cross-Examination Debate State Meet held on March 11 and 12,
 2013, at The University of Texas at Austin; and
 WHEREAS, Under the leadership of coach Marsha Wiseman,
 Mr. Burroughs, a junior, and Ms. Sheets, a senior, earned their
 place at the state meet with a second-place finish at the District
 7-3A UIL Cross-Examination Debate Tournament, which took place on
 February 6, 2013; and
 WHEREAS, Over the course of the year, Mr. Burroughs and
 Ms. Sheets debated the resolution: "The United States federal
 government should substantially increase its transportation
 infrastructure investment in the United States"; at the state meet,
 the team advanced through the preliminary rounds, reaching the
 octofinals; and
 WHEREAS, These two outstanding young Texans have
 demonstrated tremendous skill in the art of debate and public
 speaking, and through their talent and commitment to excellence,
 they have brought great distinction to themselves and to Glen Rose
 High School; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Nathan Burroughs and Christine
 Sheets on their performance at the UIL Cross-Examination Debate
 State Tournament and extend to them sincere best wishes for
 continued success and a bright future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
 for Mr. Burroughs and Ms. Sheets as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
