H.R. No. 2565
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Rossi Walter of the Oak Cliff branch of the YMCA of
Metropolitan Dallas received a 2012 Sam Winstead Volunteer of the
Year Award at the annual meeting of the association on April 11,
2013; and
WHEREAS, This prestigious award is presented every year to a
volunteer at each branch of the Dallas YMCA who has demonstrated
exceptional commitment to a program or has helped further the goals
of the YMCA in his or her community; and
WHEREAS, A volunteer with the YMCA for nearly a decade, Rossi
Walter has been working with the Oak Cliff branch since 2007; he has
devoted himself in particular to teaching classes to seniors in the
Active Older Adults program, promoting health and fitness as well
as physical, social, and spiritual growth for people over 50 with
his characteristic warmth and charm; and
WHEREAS, Through his exemplary service to the Oak Cliff
Family YMCA, Rossi Walter has greatly benefited his community and
demonstrated his support of the organization's goals of healthy
living and social responsibility; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Rossi Walter on receiving a 2012
Sam Winstead Volunteer of the Year Award and extend to him sincere
best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Walter as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
