H.R. No. 257
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Lonnie Coone Sr., and
Carole Coone of Axtell celebrated this joyous milestone in their
marriage on January 14, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Lonnie Coone and the former Carole Dabbs were joined
in matrimony in 1963 at a ceremony held in Riesel; through the
years, they have been blessed with a treasured family of four
children, including Rick Coone and his wife, Pam, Cheryl Coone
Vasta, Lonnie Coone, Jr., and Anne Coone Cantrell, as well as nine
grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Coone
worked as a truck driver for ABF Freight System, and Mrs. Coone
enjoyed a career with the Texas Department of Human Services; now
both retired, they are valued members of Timber Crest Baptist
Church; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Coone have enjoyed five decades of
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Lonnie Coone, Sr., and Carole Coone
on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Coone as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
