H.R. No. 2716 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Josefina Ibarra has been participating in the 2013 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program, and during the 83rd Legislative Session, she has ably served her fellow Texans as an aide in the office of State Representative Trey Martinez Fischer; and WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative Leadership Foundation, this program offers outstanding university students and recent graduates an opportunity to serve as full-time policy interns in the offices of members of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus and to gain experience working with the Texas Legislature; and WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas State University--San Marcos, Ms. Ibarra was one of 10 women named to the American Association of University Women's 2011 national student advisory council; she has further distinguished herself by organizing a highway safety campaign that secured improvements to a three-county stretch of Texas roadway and through her service as an intern with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in Washington, D.C.; and WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure at the State Capitol, Josefina Ibarra has been of great assistance to Representative Martinez Fischer's office, while acquiring knowledge of issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; she has performed her duties as a legislative aide with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and she may indeed look forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby honor Josefina Ibarra as a participant in the 2013 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program and commend her for her notable contributions to the legislative process; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Ibarra as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
