 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in
 Robstown enjoyed its most successful year to date in 2012; and
 WHEREAS, Opened six years ago, the fairgrounds includes a
 baseball stadium open since 2003, a central pavilion arena, two
 exhibit halls, a conference center, an equestrian center, and a
 meadow; the facility can be used for rodeos, livestock shows,
 boxing, wrestling, concerts, trade shows, and a number of other
 types of events; and
 WHEREAS, More than 158,800 people attended 270 different
 events in 2012, and some new annual events were established; the
 fairgrounds saw a gross annual revenue of $1,172,579; and
 WHEREAS, The fairgrounds is home to the Nueces County Junior
 Livestock Show and Rodeo and will host many upcoming events as the
 year continues, including the Coastal Bend Boat and Outdoor Show,
 the Gulf Coast Gem and Mineral Show, the Texas A&M
 University--Kingsville College Rodeo, and the American Cancer
 Society Cattle Barons Ball; the space is managed by Global
 Spectrum; and
 WHEREAS, The Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds
 provides varied opportunities for Nueces County residents and
 serves as a place for the community to gather and share experiences,
 and the announcement of its banner year provides a fitting
 opportunity to recognize it; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Richard M. Borchard Regional
 Fairgrounds on a successful 2012 and extend to all those associated
 with the fairgrounds sincere best wishes for the future.
