H.R. No. 286
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A delegation from the Rio Grande Valley Partnership
is visiting the State Capitol on February 27, 2013; and
WHEREAS, A chamber of commerce for Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr,
and Willacy Counties, the Rio Grande Valley Partnership unites a
distinguished roster of members devoted to the greater good and
overall advancement of that entire region; and
WHEREAS, Since 1944, the Rio Grande Valley Partnership has
endeavored to foster relationships and coordinate programs that
further economic development in South Texas, and the organization
today continues to build on its legacy of encouraging and promoting
business opportunities in the Valley; and
WHEREAS, The nonprofit partnership organizes and sponsors
the Rio Grande Valley Legislative Tour for state representatives
and senators at the beginning of each session; supported by
community sponsors, the tour allows local businesses to interact
directly with decision makers from across the state; and
WHEREAS, Led by a board of directors and administered by a
dedicated team of employees, the partnership executes a robust
program that cultivates progress and prosperity across its four
counties, throughout the State of Texas, and into the region's
international neighbor, the State of Tamaulipas, Mexico; and
WHEREAS, The outstanding cooperation demonstrated by the
partnership not only benefits area businesses and industries but
also contributes to the vitality of the communities it serves, and
it is indeed a pleasure to honor this notable group; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby recognize February 27, 2013, as Rio Grande
Valley Partnership Day at the State Capitol and extend best wishes
to the visiting delegation for a productive and memorable stay in
Austin; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
