 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Dr. Marsha Barber is retiring as the director of
 development of Trinity Christian Academy in Willow Park in May
 2013, drawing to a close a distinguished career in education that
 has spanned four decades; and
 WHEREAS, After receiving her bachelor's degree in elementary
 education with an early childhood certification from Texas
 Christian University, Dr. Barber worked as a teacher in the public
 school system; over the years, she went on to earn her master's
 degree in education from the University of Houston and a doctorate
 in educational administration with an emphasis on Christian
 education from Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma; and
 WHEREAS, Dr. Barber established Trinity Christian Academy in
 1993; based at the Trinity Bible Church in Willow Park, the school
 initially served 10 students in first through fourth grade; in the
 past decade, she has overseen the development of TCA into an
 institution with independent facilities that serves approximately
 500 students from preschool to 12th grade; and
 WHEREAS, Following her retirement at the end of the 2013
 school year, Dr. Barber will stay active as a consultant for
 developing Christian schools and as a volunteer with the Rotary
 Club and Parker County Connections; and
 WHEREAS, This esteemed educator enjoys the love and support
 of her husband, Fred, and her three children, Erich, Christi, and
 Lauren, and she is looking forward to spending more time with her
 family and catching up on her reading; and
 WHEREAS, Marsha Barber has demonstrated an unwavering
 commitment to her students, and her hard work and dedication have
 made a positive difference in the lives of countless young Texans;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Marsha Barber on her retirement as
 the director of development of Trinity Christian Academy and extend
 to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Dr. Barber as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
