H.R. No. 30 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories of Ralph H. Burnette of Arlington, who passed away on February 6, 2012, at the age of 78; and WHEREAS, Ralph Burnette was employed as a data processing manager for General Motors and Electronic Data Systems for more than three and a half decades; a talented musician, he served as a music director for churches in Georgia and California for several years and played guitar in a gospel and country music group for senior citizens; he was a member of First Baptist Church of Arlington; and WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan was the devoted husband of Virginia Burnette, with whom he shared a rewarding marriage of 57 years; he also took great pride in his children, Rhonda and Gregory, and treasured his five grandchildren, Joshua, Rachel, Sarah, Nikki, and Dustin, and his three great-grandchildren, Marley, Levi, and Jake; and WHEREAS, Ralph Burnette lived a full and generous life, and those who were blessed to share in his love and affection will forever hold him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ralph H. Burnette and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his wife, Virginia McCullough Burnette; to his daughter, Rhonda Barnett, and her husband, Michael; to his son, Gregory Burnette, and his wife, Johnna; to his grandchildren, Joshua, Rachel, Sarah, Nikki, and Dustin; to his great-grandchildren, Marley, Levi, and Jake; to his sister, Morene Whitworth, and her husband, Virlyn; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ralph H.
